Shahid Ahmad

Shahid Ahmad completed his graduation in physics from the prestigious Patna University. He went on to do his post – graduation in Computer Applications in Information Technology from the AIMA – CME, New Delhi, in 2001. He has worked with Digital Empowerment Foundation for 4 years as a project director and website developer. He is the Project Director of the CWICTRC.

Saumyakant Sahoo

Saumyakant Sahoo completed his Masters’ in Computer Applications (MCA) from the prestigious Biju Patnaik University in Rourkela, Orissa. He has joined the CWICTRC as the chief software developer and administrative head.

Qaiser Jahan Qureshi, Teacher, Computers

Qaiser Jahan completed her schooling from the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Chanderi, after which she did her BSc. in Computer Applications from Geetanjali College, Bhopal. She went on to do her MSc. in Information Technology (IT) from the Department of Computer Sciences and Applications, Bhopal University. Qaiser has taught for one year in Swami Vivekananda Senior Secondary School, Chanderi, and for six months in Sardar Ajit Singh Memorial College.

Aafreen Ansari, Teacher, English

Aafreen Ansari completed her schooling from the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Chanderi. She did her Bachelor’s in Arts, with a specialization in English Literature from Jiwaji University, Gwalior. She has taught English for two years in Chanderi Public School, after which she joined the CWICTRC. She has a good command over both English and Hindi.

Shilpi Jain, Teacher, English

Shilpi completed her schooling from the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Chanderi. She did her Bachelor’s in Arts, with a specialization in English Literature from Jiwaji University, Gwalior. She has taught as an English remedial teacher for four months in the Government Girls Higher Secondary School and for one year in Chanderi Public School, after which she joined the CWICTRC. She has a good command over both English and Hindi.

Yasmeen Bano, Teacher, Costume design

Yasmeen completed her schooling from the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Chanderi. She did her bachelor’s as well as her Master’s in Arts from Doctor Harsingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya, Sagar. Her interest however lay in apparel design, which she pursued from Samudra Roy Government Polytechnic at Sagar and was awarded a Diploma in Costume Design and Dress Making in 2001. She has participated in workshops conducted by UNIDO and complied a catalogue of traditional borders and designs of Chanderi Saris for the Tana – Bana Self Help Group.

Mohd. Umar

President of the Bunkar Vikas Sanstha, the apex of weavers’ SHGs in Chanderi, Mohd Umar tryst with weaving began when he was 14 yrs old. He has joined the CWICTRC as the administrative affairs manager. He is also the president of one of the most illustrious weavers’ SHGs, the Tana – Bana Group, which holds exhibitions all over India.

Abdul Mallak

With more than 25 years experience of tailoring, Abdul Mallak has joined the CWICTRC as a stitching and tailoring teacher.

Mahender Rekwar

Mahender Rekwar has joined the CWICTRC as an office boy and peon.
