Chanderi Weavers ICT Resource Centre

Chanderi Weavers ICT Resource Centre

Chanderi has 11 government run schools and 7 Govt. aided Madarsas which still rely on the traditional mode of one way learning process. Apart from this, these schools have hardly any ICT enabled applications in learning and teaching processes. A preliminary survey has indicated that these schools can enhance their operations and performance through ICT tools and applications provided such initiatives meet their curriculum needs in local language.

Under this program, at least one micro lab in each of the Schools in Chanderi will be set up to impart training in basic ICT skills. Minimum 1000 students will be trained in ICT skills and 100 teachers will be trained in the dissemination of ICT skills. Core components of this program include:

1. Introduction of new learning and teaching modules
2. educational content creation
3. Guidelines on skill development for teachers
4. General guidelines on school management.

The Chanderi ICT in Education Program will be integrated with www.gyanpedia.in, a nationwide educational portal developed by MLAsia and DEF and the ‘Sahayika’ application, a knowledge network platform developed by Media Lab Asia. Quality education will therefore be available to the children of Chanderi through this initiative.
